Autumn is a good time of year. I chose autumn to get married—the second time.
Leaving The Past Behind
I left my first husband, the Abuser, in 1999 and never looked back. That was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done, was to leave. What were the alternatives though?
Either stay and get beaten or leave and embark upon the most difficult five and a half years of my life as a single mother with two small babies to feed and take care of.
I decided I didn’t want to get abused anymore, so I left. It took three times of trying, but I finally did it.
Most women stay though—especially polygamous women—because not only does he have you by the hair, beating you physically, but by your mind beating you spiritually too.
I figured if I was going to be a statistic I might as well be one on the other side of the fence, as a single mom. So that’s how it went—back in those days.
To Find a Better Future
Today I bask in a hot bath of Epsom salts and lavender oil, feeling super spoiled and blessed by life, by my husband (the one I fell deeply in love with and married in the fall, many autumns ago).
The view outside my bathroom window is as close to glorious as one could imagine. So I peek through the blinds, tilting just two of them a tiny crack to make sure none of my neighbors see me buck-naked.
I can see my mountain. The trees along the foothills are turning brilliant colors of gold and oranges and it seems out of place to see an early dusting of snow on the high peaks. A feeling of deep gratitude washes over my soul, like the warm lavender water washes over my body. I inhale deeply—relax.
I love this place. I’m glad I moved back. Utah is my home, no matter how much I used to long to live somewhere else—some place with lush, green trees everywhere—and ticks! (Never mind, I’ll take my desert.)
A Journey To The Best Things That Life Offers
I know, it’s been a long time since I’ve written to you lovelies—and I apologize for my long silence. Life happens and I’m sure over the past two years since we first met (albeit virtually) your journey has taken you many places—or not.
I’ve been on a journey of my own. And now I’ve decided to start up my blog again. But this time with more clarity and direction as to whom I’m serving and how my blog can help your life.
Because that’s what we’re all really seeking, right? —love, nourishment, clarity, connection, purpose, peace, joy.
Serving You In Your Journey
I know your time is valuable, so with your permission I’d like to humbly ask you to share with me your preferences on what type of content you’d like to receive from me on a weekly basis.
I’ve attached a very short survey link with a few questions for you to get a better feel for what my heart-centered blogging topics would be about and to see what most interests you. There is also a space for you to write in the topics and/or services that you’re most interested in (in case I missed one).
I appreciate you so much, and I genuinely look forward to serving you in the best ways I know how…for years to come.
With so much love,
P.S. We’re right in the middle of a rebrand for the Shiloah Jordan website. The big reveal will be happening soon! I’ll be sure to keep you updated. Step-by-step, we’ll get there together. J
